The Design and Technologies Teachers’ Association of Australia (DATTA Australia) represents Design and Technologies learning area educators, comprising individual state and territory associations who exist to promote and improve the quality of Design and Technologies education in Australia.
Design and Technologies Week is a National initiative engaging schools throughout Australia. From 12-18 October 2020, D&T Week is time to promote our fantastic learning area, showcasing the creative, innovative and challenging work your students are engaged in – to colleagues, principals, families and the wider community.
Teachers – this week is your time to showcase the creative, innovative and challenging work that your students are engaged in!
Perceptions about our learning area are often wrong.
These misconceptions of Design & Technologies affect the delivery of our curriculum. But we know that D&T offers our students the skills and knowledge they will need for an ever-changing, technology-driven future, which will demand people have skills in creative problem solving, teamwork, empathy and design thinking.
This website offers educators ideas and resources that can be implemented in your schools, as well as opportunities to engage with the wider community in STEaM programs.
By registering, you are helping to change many minds about the value of D&T in our society, and with that will come more understanding and support from school leadership teams, increased encouragement from parents and greater engagement with our students. Plus you’ll go in the draw to win some fantastic prizes for your school!
Australia and the world need creative problem solvers, and that’s what we deliver!
Thanks for getting involved.
